Boston is known as the birthplace of the American Revolution. Walk the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile-long path that weaves through 16 historical sites, including the Massachusetts State House and the home of Paul Revere. New York City is a melting pot of cultures and a symbol of American resilience. In 1789, George Washington was inaugurated as president here at Federal Hall.

Day One

  • Afternoon arrival in Boston
  • Meet your Tour Manager who will be with you for your entire stay in Boston
  • Narrated bus tour of Boston including sites along the Freedom Trail and tour of Boston’s neighborhoods
  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Check-in to the hotel for overnight

Day Two

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Depart for a self-guided tour of Bunker Hill Monument and the USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides”
  • Lunch, on own
  • Independent walking tour of the Freedom Trail to include Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, Paul Revere’s House, and the Old North Church
  • Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum – Explore a full-scale replica of an 18th-century sailing vessel while learning about the famous event that forever changed the course of American history. The museum provides a multi-sensory experience that includes live actors and interactive exhibits
  • Performance as part of the 250 Concerts Commemoration*
  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Return to the hotel for overnight

Day Three

  • Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out
  • Board motorcoach and transfer to New York City (approx. 216 miles; 4 ½ hours non-stop)
  • Lunch, on own
  • Afternoon arrival in New York City
  • Meet your MCI Tour Manager for an orientation tour of the city
  • Sightseeing and NYC orientation tour may include Midtown, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Radio City Music Hall, NBC Studio Store, Grand Central Terminal and 42nd Street Deco architecture
  • Evening sightseeing includes a trip to the top of the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock for a view of the Big Apple
  • Evening Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Check-in to the hotel for overnight

Day Four

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Performance or clinic as part of the 250 Concerts Commemoration*
  • Lunch, on own
  • Tour the Upper Westside including Harlem, Apollo Theatre, Grant’s Tomb, and Columbia University
  • Continue sightseeing of Central Park, Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain, Lincoln Center, and Time Warner Building
  • Evening dinner at a Times Square area restaurant
  • Optional: Attend a Broadway Play/Musical (additional cost)
  • Return to the hotel for overnight

Day Five

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Tour the Lower Manhattan sights of Battery Park, Wall Street, Trinity Church, Federal Hall (where George Washington was sworn in as the First President), Winter Garden and 9/11 Memorial (Museum is additional cost, minimum 2 hours, with strong content), St. Paul’s Chapel (built in 1766), the Commons (where the Declaration of Independence was read in 1776), Queen Street (where the Culper Spy Ring operated), Fraunces Tavern (where George Washington gave his farewell address at the end of the war), Chinatown, Little Italy and Greenwich Village, as time allows
  • Lunch, on own
  • Continue sightseeing including Lincoln Center and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine
  • Performance as part of the 250 Concerts Commemoration*
  • Evening dinner at a local restaurant
  • Return to the hotel for overnight

Day Six

  • Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out
  • Morning sightseeing may include the High Line elevated park along the Hudson River with public art and gardens, Brooklyn Bridge walk, Greenwich Village, or Macy’s shopping
  • Afternoon departure for home
