In 2026, 250 Concerts celebrated America’s 250th birthday, with performances and festivals in four iconic American cities—Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. The celebration did not end in 2026—it continues into a new chapter in America’s history. 250 Concerts continues to bring ensembles together to celebrate the nation through performance, cultural discovery, and shared musical experiences leading up to the 250th anniversary of George Washington being sworn in as the first President of the United States of America in 1789.
From the founding cities of the American Revolution to the places that have shaped the nation ever since, each concert and tour becomes part of a larger musical journey—one that looks back with appreciation, celebrates the present, and looks ahead to the future.

We invite all bands, choirs, and orchestras of all varying skills and ages to participate in the 250 Concerts Commemoration. MCI can develop an itinerary and performance venues to meet the level and desires of your ensemble.
Do we have to travel to multiple cities?
There is no requirement to visit all the cities we highlight for the 250 Concerts Commemoration. Each ensemble can choose which cities are of most interest and we can develop an itinerary to meet the specific needs of your ensemble.
Can non-musical school departments or shadow tours participate?
Absolutely! Aside from rehearsals and performances, our itineraries suit anyone interested in American history.
